President Eisenhower, in his first election campaign in 1952, made a strong impression on listeners with his rear platform talks. He is shown at Green Bay, Wisconsin where he got radio coverage as well. Presidential Campaign. In 1952 Eisenhower got on a campaign train, impressed veteran politicos with his ease in making crossroads speeches. Battery of mikes was lined up for Ike in Green Bay, Wisconsin where he got airwave as well as open-air coverage.
