1982 Press Photo Milwaukee Art Museum Visitor Examines art by Lucian Castelli

A visitor to the Milwaukee Art Museum examined part of a new exhibit, "New Figurations from Europe," which opened Wednesday and will continue through January 30. The paintings pictured here, both by Lucian Castelli of Switzerland, are titled "Love Me Tender, Love Me Quickly" (left) and "Zebras I." The show includes about 15 European paintings. Featuring recognizable yet expressionistic figures, the paintings are a turn away from abstraction. An exhibit of American figurations will open Friday. Milwaukee Art Museum - Exhibits.
