1989 Press Photo Demonstrators picket at Mitchell International Airport

About 40 members of several unions, including 10 Easter Airlines pilots, picket outside the Continental Airlines and Eastern ticket counters at Mitchell International Airport. The demonstrators, who also handed out leaflets Wednesday, were taking part in the national "Stand Up to Lorenzo America Solidarity Day." The purpose of the demonstration was to drum up support for the Eastern Airlines strike. Frank Lorenzo is chairman of Texas Air Corporation the parent company of Eastern and Continental.
