Here they are, in the second phase of the trip down the steps--almost there...Birds, ducks, domestic. A duck family covers a lot of territory on the way to a summer swim, first strolling through the inner courtyard (right) of University Square in Madison, down a flight of stairs (top) and finally into the waters of Lake Mendota.
