Dearly beloved deer-Deer that raced across the frozen lake at Boyd's Mason Lake Resort in western Sawyer County depend on Kathy Simmon for some of their food through the winter. Simon was watched by her springer spaniels as she filled a feeding trough with deer pellets. The hungry deer waited in the hemlock until she retreated to the house. Simon said the resort fed more than 200 deer in the 2,600-acre lake area, distributing more than 45 tons of feed through the winter. Animals-Deer-Winter Feeding
