Description

A bustle pad of the 1890s made of striped fabric helped a woman look fashionably full in black; and a corset with a whalebone "bask" (about 1850) kept another wearer flat in front. In the old days, there was a lot more to women than met the eye, as a collection of antique underwear at the Milwaukee Public Museum shows. Milwaukee - Museums - Exhibits - Clothes.
