This is the state of Pennsylvania's part in the project which will turn Independence Hall and other historic building in the area into a dramatic memorial. At right, a three block area on the Delaware river side of the hall is to be made into a national park. At left center, at the side of the hall, is Congress Hall, where Congress met from December 6, 1790, to May 14, 1800. At right is the headquarters building of the American Philosophical Society, completed in 1785. In about another 10 years, work will finished on the project which will restore to importance the hall in which the Declaration of Independence was adopted. Many of the rundown commercial blocks in the area will be cleared. (Pennsylvania - Philadelphia - Independence Hall)
