1960 Press Photo A Drill Breaking up Pavement for Algiers Insurgent Barricades

A pneumatic drill used Thursday in Algiers to break pavement for stone barricades. Armed French insurgents, clinging to their barricades, were in control of most of the city. Paratroopers have ringed the insurgent encampment but fraternized with the men.
