Marshfield, Wisc.-Former Wisconsin Congressman John W. Byrnes died late Saturday night from a stroke he and suffered earlier in the week. St. Joseph's Hospital officials said. Byrnes, 71. had been hospitalized since Tuesday after experiencing "difficulties" at Central Wisconsin Airport. Byrnes had been on his way to a checkup at the Marshfield Clinic when he was rushed to St. Joseph's.
