Johanna Frieheit, 8, of Banting School in Waukesha, got some last-minute instructions Wednesday from Joe Barden, a representative of the Badger State Games as she prepared to start her leg of a 10-mile run with a torch. Students from 16 public and private schools in Waukesha took part in the torch run, held to promote the state games, according to Jerry Kozar, who coordinated the event for the Waukesha Optimist Club. The 21 runners went to all 16 of the schools as they covered the course.
