1981 Press Photo Thomas E Buntrock, Mequon Police Chief memorial dedication

A photograph of Kathy Buntrock was superimposed on the sign at the dedication service marking the renaming of Wilson Ave in Mequon and Wisconsin St in Thiensville to Bruntrock Ave, in honor of her husband Thomas E Buntrock, Mequon's slain police chief. Burtock died Dec 2, 1979 at a police roadblock in a gun battle with an armed robbery suspect after Burtrock had exchanged himself for two hostages.
