1960 Press Photo Original Star-Spangled Banner at the Smithsonian Institution

Description
In a huge glass case in Washington's Smithsonian Institution hangs the original Star-Spangled Banner. This flag flew over Fort McHenry during the British bombardment in the War of 1812 and inspired Francis Scott Key to write his verses. The flag hangs opposite The Spirit of St Louis, Charles A Lindbergh's plane.

Photo is dated 1960.
