Airborne particles like these, invinsible to the naked eye, may be environmental bad guys. Some of the chemical compounds, particularly sulfates, that coat the particles could cause lung disease, local researchers believed. The Magnification of those above is about 1800 times actual size. university of Wisconsin- Milwaukee physicists classify the particles into three geometric groups, Spherical, glassy & flakey.
