1953 Press Photo Police in Front of Duisburg KPD Office. Benzine Canister.

A young man threw a benzine canister into the office of the KPD, a communist party, in Duisburg on Wilhelm Square. Documents and records were lit on fire. The perpetrator fled on a motorcycle and police went after him, firing three shots, but he got away. Firemen worked to save the building while several passersby responded with "let the thing burn." Here a policeman stands in front of the office after the fire.
