104 Killed in Japan Bus Disaster: Program search one of the two busses for bodies after they were swept into the swift Hida River by a landslide near Kagamihara City in Gifu Prefecture, killing 104 men, women and children in the world's biggest bus disaster. Japanese families were on an organized sightseeing trip of the mountains when the sudden landslide caused by torrential rain occured. There were 15 buses on the highway at the time, and two of them were caught by tons of earth and rocks and hurled into the river raging with flood water resulting from typhoon conditions. Only three survivors escaped from the 107 passengers in the two busses.
