1955 Press Photo Apartment Building in Hannover Collapsed.

A five story apartment building in Hannover with over 40 residents, collapsed. An inhabitant of the complex had noticed a fissure in the wall of his home and had told others about it so that they could all escape quickly. The cause was assumed to be an excavator at the neighboring building square.
