Tensions reached a fever point across Germany as demonstrations were held all across the country on Easter Day in major cities like Berlin, Munich, and Frankfurt. Police were thoroughly prepared for the protests. In Frankfurt over 8,000 people took part in the demonstrations. There were clashes between police and demonstrators and water cannons and nightsticks were used. Pictured here is a barrier between demonstrators and police in Frankfurt.
