1961 Press Photo Writer Robert Gaillard Visits Ucuyali Tribe in Peru

Writer Robert Gaillard arrived at Orly airport this morning. He is returning from a 4 month trip to Peru where he spent the entire rainy season exploring the wildest regions of Urumamba and Ucuyali. A tribe in Ucuyali made him chief and he is pictured wearing the chief's robe and admiring a real Juvaro Indian head.
