SPD - Party Conference in Nürnberg - March 17-21. This year's party conference for the SPD occured in the Meistersinger Hall in Nürnberg. Right at the start of the conference considerable troubles arose between Party-VIPs and left-radical demonstrators. After a nearly ten-hour discussion the party conference subsequently approved the entrance of the SPD into the large coalition, with only 173 votes against it. Willy Brandt was re-elected as the party chairman. Our picture shows Willy Brandt during his speech for the party.
