1977 Press Photo Yvonne Printemps

Yvonne Printemps and her husband Pierre Fresnay were the most famous couple on the French stage for a long time. Yvonne just died at 83 years old. Born in Ermont in 1894, she started in the theater at 13 years old. Yvone starred in more than 40 plays and filmed several movies. She was the second wife of Sacha Guitry from 1919 to 1934. She was a knight of the Legion of Honor, a knight of the Arts and Letters, and a knight of the Order of the Belgian Crown. She is pictured here in one of her on-screen roles.
