Press Photo Political Refugee Osman Peroli and Wife

Mr. Osman Peroli refused to return to his country and asked for the protection of the Turkish government as a political refugee. Mr. Peroli is from Uskup and practices Islam, as does his wife. He has two children: a six year-old daughter and a 4 year-old son. He arrived in Turkey in 1953 and was supposed to leave the country around March 10th. But, he changed his mind and asked to stay here as a political refugee under the protection of the Turkish government. Turkey accepted his request.
