Floating Hotel Planned To Help Refloat The Japanese Shipbuilding Industry: The Japanese shipbuilding industry suffering for effects of the oil shock is searching for methods to expand business and has come up with a novel idea.Hitachi Shipbuilding and Engineering Company say that its planned "marine palace" would have 512 guest rooms capable of accomodating 2,500 people. It will have all kinds of entertainment and sports facilities i.e. a swimming pool, sauna bath, tennis court, etc. The hotel, comparable to a modern mammoth oil tanker, will measure 250 meters in length, and 70 in width, it will be seven stories high and have a floor space of 92,000 square meters. Cost ¥12,500 million (U$$42 million) Photo shows. Artists conception of the "marine palace".
