Lord And Lady Mountbatten Receive Freedom Of Edinburgh: The freedom of Edinburgh and the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws of Edinburgh University, were conferred yesterday on both Admiral Earl Mountbatten, C-in-C Allied Forces, Mediterranean, and Countess Mountbatten. Photo shows Watched by Earl Mountbatten, Countess Mountbatten is seen receiving the silver casket containing the Burgess ticket, Sir James Miller, the Lord Provost of Edinburgh - during the Freedom ceremony in the Usher Hall, Edinburgh.
