Demonstration of the Flexible Barge: Demonstrations were held by today at Southampton of the revolutionary flexible barge, made of nylon and synthetic rubber, containing a cargo of kerosene. The flexible barge, called "Dracone", can be towed by any vessel of reasonable power, and has been developed for the transport of liquids lighter than water. When emptied the barge can be wound up on a spool. Photo shows The Dracone flexible barge, showing its manoeuvrability - during today's demonstration at Southampton.
