Japanese Solar-heated House: This Solar-heated prefabricated house that uses the Sun's energy to heat it, and provide hot water has been built at Kawasaki, near Tokyo by the Toshiba Electric Co of Japan. The two-story house of 102.6 square meters has a glass covered roof to collect the sun's energy. it is expected to cost between £307 and £369 per 3.3 square meters to build, and is solely for the Japanese market. A feature of the house is a 12 X12X12 meter layer of crushed pebbles under the floor of the living room as a unique hot air storage system.
