1971 Press Photo Japan Man-made Island being constructed

Japan Man-made Island: Work in progress on a man made island 90.25 meters in diameter, 6 kilometers off the coast of Ohmuda port in Kyushu, Japan to provide air shafts for an underwater coal mine. The structure is being carried out by Mitsui Mining Co. and welded pipe K trusses are being used.
