In a patriotic ceremony presided by the peruvian chief of state General Juan Velasco Alvarado the 1971 draftees took their- oath before the monument to the patron of the army, Colonel- Francisco Bolognesi Cervantes, which stands on the square bearing his name. Photo shows General Ernesto Montagne Sanchez, peruvian prime minister and minister of the war reads a declaration. Sitting in the background (first from the left) is President Velasco Alvarado.
