Official reception in Auckland: A huge crowd waited for hours to watch the arrival of HM the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in Auckland, New Zealand today. The rain pored down during the whole of the ceremony at the Town Hall in Auckland at which H.M and the Duke were officially welcomed to New Zealand. The Queen was standing in her Summer dress unprotected from the downpour when Mr. Keith Buttle the Deputy Mayor of Auckland stepped forward and placed his plastic mac around her shoulders. The Queen turned round and replied softly ''Thank you, Sir Walter Raleigh.
