Description
The National Assembly: In Bangkok, this building is the most familiar in the country, and appears on Thai currency notes. Originally the Throne when Thailand got its constitution from the king after an Army-led coup'd'etat. Now, however, there is general feeling that it should be once again the Throne Hall to the present popular Monarch. Built in 1908 and completed in 1916 in Italian Renaissance style. Italian architects designed it, and it cost about 3 1/2 million dollars. The entire struture floats on Bangkok's muddy soil on air-filled concrete p~~~~~~~.
