Scientific Experiment From Europe Will Accompany Apollo 16 To The Moon When Apollo 16 lifts off on 17th March 1972 the crew will have a European "capsule" with them which is currently being prepared and tested under space conditions at the University of Frankfurt. It contains the so-called Biostack experiment which will help to investigate cosmic rays. Seeds from plants, cultures and crab's eggs were chosen to test biological consequences of radiation. Ops: Dr. Horst Bucker, Professor for Bio-Physical Space Research at the University of Frankfurt, and in charge of the experiment, with the completed Biostack capsule as tit will be taken aboard Apollo 16.
