Treated walls in walk-in anechoic (echoless) chamber provide background for rigorous testing of Electronic Tone Ringer by members of Advanced Product Development group at Western Electric Company's Indianapolis Works. Ringer, made to aid the hard-of-hearing, was developed by group members. The APD was formed to further coordinate Bell Telephone Laboratories design and We product engineering in bringing new products to the Bell System and its customers.
