Description
Feeding Kenya's students in Mombasa: The British organisation Oxfam, has just started a new feeding scheme for the Kenya schoolchildren. The food, bowls, cooking pots, measuring jugs, ladies and administration costs are paid by Oxfam. The food provided is intended to be a basis of diet, not sufficient in itself. But sometimes it takes a bit of explanation to parents that this is the intention and that they must not expect a full meal for their children, sufficient for the wholedday. The saddest point is to see children who are not part of the scheme in one school watching other children who are receiving their portion. Mrs.H.Haggie, of the National School Feeding Council of Kenya, said that the scheme might be expanded is all parts of the country. Photo shows Some of the children seen partaking of the food supplied by Oxfam under the new scheme, at their school in Mombasa, Kenya.

Photo measures 10 x 8 inches.

Photo is dated --none.
