High water in the whole German Federal Republic. While thaw of the least days, in whole Germany high water is a problem. All rivers are full of thawing ice and water overflowing the streets on the riversides. At Passau and Vilshofen (on the river Donau) are 400 houses overflown and more then 2,500 peoples are casuals. PS: The stand of the water gauge is only one meter under that one from 1954 - which catastrophe the folks of this place were just forgetting.

Photo measures 8 x 6 inches.

Photo is dated 03-03-1956.
