5,000 sheep die on the isle of sheppey. a sound bed of dead sheet and cattle. Army personnel were busily at work today on "Operation livestock" - on the Isle of Sheppey rescuing sheep - bullocks etc. trapped in the floods, it is estimated that over 5,000 sheep are already dead. Photo shows Mr. Andrew Barrie- seen with his two sheepdogs "Mike" and "Jerry" as they search for his sheep. Mr. Barrie had lost 348 sheep - and under the mass of grass and se~weed is a bed of sheep and cattle who perished in the floods.
