Blizzard causes road Chaos in Britain: One of Britain's worst blizzards for several years has caused chaos on the roads - and some villages are cut off. Thirty thousand miles of roads were unusuable and a hundred main roads blocked. Photo shows This was scene of desolation yesterday as cars and lorries piled up on the Sheffield road at woodhead. The road has merged with the fields.
