WESTMINSTER CATHEDRAL TREASURES TO BE PLACED ON EXHIBITION: Members of the public will have the opportunity of seeing the treasures of Westminster Cathedral for the first time - when they are placed on exhibition this month Keystone Photo Shows:- Two of the treasures to be exhibited: 'Left : A monstrance, Flemish. Antwerp mark 1669. Maker Jean Maermans. Large silver gilt monstrance, centre jewelled with garnets, acquamarines, crystals and almandine garnets. The crown set with Cabochon emeralds. (Right): Monstrance. Maker, Omar Ramsden. Silver gilt monstrance with Limoges Enamel plaques. Jewelled with amethysts and crystal balls. The front set with fine brilliants and as Oriental pearl. This monstrance was specially made for the Cathedral in the time of Cardinal Bourne and has its own stand. It is an important example of "art nouveau". Seen at today's press view.
