Aeropreen produce world's first special purpose boom. Static and sweeping trails successfully completed. Aeropreen limited of High wycombe and Ellesmere port have become the first company in the world to complete successful trails on an oil boom specifically designed to protect coastal areas and harbours from sea - borne oil pollution. The Aeropreen system, designed, prototyped and successfully tested in loss than seven days, can be used either as a static boom to defend beaches and harbours or as a "Sweep" trawled on the open sea to collect oil slicks 2 1/2 feet above sea level to enable the oil to be syphoned off before it is carried on the tide to the coast. The trials began at Falmouth on Tuesday with a trawling operation. following which, a section was next day installed as a static system at falmouth Dosks.
