Bargeman revives old custom: A Lille bargeman revived a centuries old custom while searching for the body of a little girl who drowned in a Canal yesterday. according to the custom a burning candle placed in a metal basin is towed by the barge. The Flame starts to flicker and goes out when the barge passes over a body of a drowned man or woman. Photo shows the Barge man towing the burning candle on the canal.
