1963 Press Photo Dead from burst Vaiont dam in Italy

Scene of the Italian Dam disaster, remains of the village of Longarone: It is feared that four thousand people lost their lives when part of the 8,00 ft. Mount Toc crashed down into the huge Vaiont dam near Venice-sending millions of tons of water crashing through the town of Longarone and surrounding villages.
