1955 Press Photo Royal Navy Helicopers on Mercy Missions in Scotland

Royal Navy Helicopers on Mercy Missions... Two Royal Navy Helicopters and R.A.F Shackleton flew mercy missions all day yesterday to snowboard Scottish villages. The Helicopters were based at Wick and were earmarked for medical and maternity cases in various areas which were cut off by the omer mounting snow drifts. One of the helicopters picked up Mrs.Chrissie Bannerman from Dounreay-and an hour afterwards she gave birth to 9lb son.. Photo shows One of the Helicopters seen during its Mercy Mission-to one of the snowbound Scottish Villages.
