Hundreds Die In Japanese Typhoon: Hundreds of people died then the train-ferry Toya Maru overturned at Hakodate, Japan, during the recent typhoon. Photo shows A lifeboat from the ill-fated Toya Maru train ferry, at Hakodate, Japan, lies on the debris-strewn beach, where it was tossed by the typhoon-whipped waves. In the background, divers work on the overturned hull of the ferry, only 300 yards offshore.
