1957 Press Photo Police Investigating Kidnapping Case Garden Cave Prison

Girl Says She Was "Held Prisoner" In garden Cave.. Police are investigating the case of 28 year old Miss Marjorie Jordan who says she was kept a prisoner in a garden cave for fifteen weeks by 26 year old Mr. John Bridal at the latter's home in Lewisham, London. The girl was reported missing from her home in Wishbourne Way, Beckenham on Jan. 7th. Mrs. Hutchinson - a neighbour in Lewisham found a note on her lawn which read "I am Miss M. Jordan, missing from Elmers End. I am being kept a prisoner under a big shed. He has got me in the ground where there is a room. He is keeping me here. Will you please help me call the police".. The police found Miss Jordan - ansdshe is now staying at the home of her brother-in-law in Beckenham. Mr. Bridal says he did not detain Miss Jordan against her will - except for the first few days.
