1956 Press Photo Luxury Dolls House Sold At London Auction

Lilliputian Luxury Recently sold at a London auction was an 18th century dolls' house which brought the equivalent of $1,624. Six feet high and four feet wide, it had four rooms, called "My Lady's Chamber," "The Young Ladies' Room," "Sir George's Room," and "Kitchen," and contained 400 tiny pieces including furniture, pictures, ornaments and carpets. Picture shows:- "My Lady's Chamber," complete with dogs, telescope and violin. Furniture in the house is of malachite, ivory, lacquered wood and brass. Pictures were brought from China and carpets from Persia.
