Eight day sale opens Selling up the home of the late sir john wood - at bury St. Edmund's. A sale - which is expected to last for eight days - is in progress at HENGRAVE HALL, the great Tudor Mansion near Bury St. Edmund's, in which Sir John Wood lived before his death 1st year at the age of 92. This is the biggest sale of its kind fr many years. The fine old mansion contains much fine old mansion contains much fine furniture, paintings and two valuable porcelain collections. They are being sold in 2,500 lots. Earlier this year the Mansion was sold to be converted into a convent school. Sir John Wood purchased the Hall in 1897 with half of its contents. Afterwards he regretted not having bought the lot - and spent 50 years tracing and buying back the remainder. At his death his ambition was almost realized. The present Ber~~t- also Sir John Wood is 64. Photo shows Some of the rare and valuable Porcelain pieces including Dresden Ghines - a Furstonburg group and Ludwidsburg Group.
