King Frederick IX 54 years today: H.M. King Frederik IX of Denmark is 54 years old today. King Frederik had resolved that his birthday should be celebrated quietly. But thousands of Copenhageners crowded the Amalienborg square to give home their birthday cheers. The cheers were enormous when the Royal family appeared on the balcony of Amalienborg. The Royal Guard marched in its splendid red full dress uniform through Copenhagen. Photo shows the royal guard marching in its nice red full dress uniforms on the Amalienborg Palace Square.
