Description
Child Labor In Iran: Children's tiny fingers are best for this work - and here two young Persian children work through the night at the carpets for which Persia is famous. According to Iranian law, eight is the minimum age for working, but especially in remote villages, tiny lawbreakers take over the night shift from their elder brothers & sisters. Some of the carpets take six years and more to complete, and many of the tiny workers will be adults by the time the carpets are finished. Compulsory education is one of the answers the Iranian Government is trying to enforce.

Photo measures 12.25 x 16 inches.
