Two former Italian defense ministers Luigi Gui and Mario Tanassi issued statements denying allegations they took money from the lockheed Aircraft Co. to push sales of its military aircraft. The denial followed disclosures by a U.S. Congress subcommittee that two unnamed Italian defense ministers, their parties and collaborators received sizeable sums for helping to sell 14 Hercules C-130 transport planes to the Italian Air Force. Photo shows Mario Tanassi, 60, social democrat, one of the two ministers who denied.

Photo measures 10.5 x 14 inches.
