"Lay down your Arms" call in Britain: A lay-down-your-arms appeal was made last week by Home Secretary Mr Butler, who announced that until the end of October people with illegal guns on ammunition will be able to hand them into police midnight more than 6,000 rounds and 1,040 guns were turned in at the London area alone. Photo shows Two Scotland Yard officials some of the weapons turned in - including a German sub-machine gun.
