The World Keeps On Turning: The Earth t\rotates-the the satisfaction of Professor Michael Pentz, left, of the Open University, and Canon John Collins at St. Paul's Cathedral today. Hanging from Wren's dome is a 268ft steel rope pendulum with a 150 lb brass ball attacked, and it is swinging. It is a reconstruction of the first earth-rotation experiment conducted by the French physicist Leon Foucault at the Pantheon in Paris in 1851. The St. Paul's Pendulum is bigger by 48ft. A Spike on the \end of the brass ball buts trough a wall of sand which shows that the line at swings through changes with the rotation of the earth.
