Pope opens exhibition of priceless Manuscripts. Pope Paul recently opened a unique exhibition of priceless manuscripts and fragments of the Bible in the frescoed Sistine Hall of the Vatican. The show will stay open to the public for one year to mark 1972 as the "year of the Book as proclaimed by UNESCO. The exhibition includes Bibles of all centuries from the third century on. Besides the manuscripts, it will also show the most valuable printed editions. Also on show is the most valuable printed editions. Also on show is the most precious item in the Vatican biblical collection the so-called Vatican Codex dating back to the fourth century and containing virtually all the old and new Testament written in the Greek capital script.
